The Risks of Not Treating a Yeast Infection in Time
July 1, 2008 10:00 pm Yeast InfectionNormally a mild to medium yeast infection leaves your system on its own without the need of any medication. It irritates you for a week to ten days and then disappears as suddenly as it had erupted. You may experience fatigue, constipation, depression, sinus, acne or an infection of the urinary tract for a few days. Home grown remedies and a few dosages of over-the-counter-drugs are more than enough to take care of a bout of yeast infection.
But if you don?t take precautionary measures, yeast infection can’t simply be wished away. An overgrowth of Candida ? the fungus which is known in common parlance as yeast infection, disturbs your intestine and may cause partly digested food particles to get mixed up with blood stream. This situation is known as ?leaky guts syndrome?. This automatically affects liver, making it work overtime and an overworked liver is the first step to several serious diseases as arthritis, Crohn’s disease, colitis and celiac disease.
In some cases it might also lead to various painful and embarrassing skin conditions and food allergy. In certain other cases a severe attack of yeast infection might also lead to sepsis which causes inflammation and pus formation in several parts of your body. This situation may happen to those people with lowered body immunity whose blood gets clotted at a far higher rate than what is normally acceptable. These blood clots prevent normal flow of blood to various organs and conditions of sepsis start surfacing.
Yeast infection, it has been observed, usually affects babies, elderly persons and those with lowered levels of immunity much more severely than normal healthy adults. Lowering of immunity may be due to conditions such as AIDS or it might also be the result immunity depressing medications which are routinely administered after an organ transplantation surgery is conducted.
In very severe cases of yeast infection, detoxification is possibly the only remedy for getting cured quickly. But detoxification is a double-edged sword. Though it has several benefits, it has quite a few disadvantages too.
Detoxification not only clears your body of yeast infection but all other forms of infection too. But if don?t have a strict control over what you eat, the old infections might make a comeback very soon. You must completely avoid those foods which cause yeast infection to safeguard yourself from going through the sufferings all over again.
At times patients complain of nausea, drowsiness, fatigue and pain in kidneys and around lower part of spinal cord after going through a detoxification procedure. This is a normal reaction of your bodily system which suddenly does not find all those fungus and bacteria it had been living with so long and let’s known its surprise though those symptoms.
Ideally, you should maintain proper hygiene and avoid foods which trigger yeast infections to remain healthy.
